Stage experience
is beneficial for students of all ages. Performing helps develop
self-confidence that lasts a lifetime. Participation is not mandatory, but
encouraged for the experience is important to a good dance education. Students
must be enrolled by December to be eligible. A $25.00 costume deposit for each
class your child participates in is due on October 15th. The costume balance is
due January 15th. Fundraisers are available to help defray costs. We make every
effort to keep the cost of costumes as low as possible.
Information
Important
notices will be posted on the bulletin board regarding pertinent information.
Monthly newsletters and handouts are frequently sent home with the dancers.
Please check dance bags regularly.
Cancellation
of classes
The studio will
close during inclement weather. Adams County school closings DO NOT necessarily
mean the academy will be closed. Most days the weather and roads have improved
prior to afternoon/evening classes. If any day is questionable, please call the
studio answering machine after 2:00 p.m. for information.
Discipline
No gum, food or
drinks are allowed in the dance rooms. Please no running, rough play or loud
talking in the waiting areas and no playing in unused dance rooms. Please clean
up after snacks and drinks, etc.
Miscellaneous
The academy will
open only fifteen minutes prior to the first class of the day. Please stay with
younger students until their class begins. Home practice is encouraged. Dance
notes are available to aid in practice. Classes with less than five students
are subject to cancellation and combined with another class. Holiday
breaks will generally follow the North Adams school schedule. The academy
schedule will be posted on the bulletin board and in the brochure. Students are
periodically given the opportunity to perform in local shows and competitions
throughout the year.
